Since our creation in 1954, the Englewood Volunteer Ambulance Corps (EVAC) has provided emergency basic life support to the people of Englewood. EVAC is a not-for-profit emergency medical agency that relies on donations, and some city funds, to operate on a daily basis. We are staffed by over 30 dedicated volunteers, mostly EMTs, all of whom help to maintain a professional and reliable organization that are trained to handle the nearly 3,000 ‘911’ calls we receive annually. Our members are state certified Emergency Medical Technicians and First Responders, all of whom continually improve and renew their training to make sure that they can handle any medical emergency that could occur. In addition to our staff, we work in conjunction with the Englewood Police Department, Englewood Fire Department and the local hospitals' Mobile Intensive Care Units to ensure that every patient receives the highest quality of care.

We provide emergency medical assistance, care and transportation to patients in Englewood and our surrounding towns when their municipality is in need; without regard to race, creed or ethnic background. EVAC is one of the founding members of the East Bergen Ambulance Association (EBAA), an organization that provides mutual aid to each other’s towns that stretches from Tenafly and Teaneck to Cliffside Park and Little Ferry. We have always worked hard to support our neighbors when they are in need. We work with them to keep the volunteer movement strong and will continue to do so in the future.

There's always something going on at EVAC that's new and exciting. For a calendar of upcoming events; use the "News" link. The "Officers" link gives you a list of the current year's elected and appointed officers.

Just so you can see all the fun we have at EVAC, we've posted pictures from years past ... starting with the very first official squad portrait from 1955! Click on "Photos" to see what we've been up to, past and present.

Our headquarters is located at 7 Jay Street, at the corner of Jay and South Van Brunt, next to the Englewood Police Department headquarters. If you're interested in joining our organization, stop down and fill out an application anytime or use the "Join EVAC" link to print one out.

EVAC would like to thank everyone in the City of Englewood and the surrounding area for all of your continued support. Its only with the help and support of the city and its citizens that we can continue to provide the community with the level of emergency medical care they deserve.
